Research
"Haki Kapasi writes an inspirational reflection on equalities training. She explains the limitation of the “talk and chalk” method of training. She argues that this means that practitioners do not emerge as independent thinkers able to find answers for themselves. Kapasi regards racism as a living experience, one in which we all take part. She states that it is a practitioner’s job to ensure children grow up to be critical thinkers who are able to challenge discrimination and injustice"
Nick Young reviewing Race Equality Teaching, Volume 24 number 2, Spring 2006, Guest Editor, Jane Lane

As I read through this book I began to underline statements which I felt were important until I realised there were too many.
Marcia Visor, practitioner, reviewing Playing in Parallel

"The first thing to say (about the reports) is how fantastically well-written they are. I can’t tell you what a joy it is to read documents that are so clear and accessible."
Joseph Rowntree Foundation on Neighbourhood Play and Community Action

More is Caught than Taught

"I have developed massively in all areas of personal and working development. I feel I have grown enormously from this course and that I can see life from others points of view and appreciate and acknowledge they have feelings too. I have always thought of myself as empathetic but now feel I have a real understanding of myself and where I am coming from, life changing."

"I found each module had a direct impact on the practice in the setting where I work, and for me personally content extremely relevant and important for anyone working in child care and living in the society we do today."
"Since the introduction of the MCTT I am much more honest and open with the staff and like to help them in their pursue of careers even if this means we lose them from the setting, I feel this honest and open approach, and the fact that the team have been working much better as a team, has had a positive effect on retention - the staff have stayed with us. Staff sickness has reduced dramatically..and staff do not want to let their team down."
"MCTT is a wonderful, positive course and can only be good for anyone who is open to “opening up to change” and open to looking at others’ perspectives. It’s really hard to explain in this small space because the course gave us so much and was so varied. I could write a page on all I got from each module! The best training I’ve ever been on."
